Simon Poulton - Business Recovery and Turnaround, Corporate Finance

Simon Poulton generally undertakes roles as Chief Restructuring Officer, Turnaround Director, Chief Financial Officer or Chief Operating Officer and also operates as a Non-Executive Director and Board Adviser.

Clients have included publicly quoted, private equity and family-controlled companies and public sector institutions and he undertakes roles at the request of their boards or other stakeholders.

He undertook his first independent consultancy contract in 1993 and from 1993 until 2002 was in full time permanent employment mostly operating as Group Finance Director of publicly quoted companies. In these roles, he concentrated on turning around and improving under-performing group businesses and also supported the growth of new and emerging companies through private and public equity fund raising.

Since 2002, he has operated as an Independent Executive.

He is a member of various turnaround executive panels operated by professional services firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte and Ernst & Young and is involved, also on a non-exclusive basis, with a number of private equity houses. He is a Fellow of the European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals, a Member of the Institute for Turnaround and holds Practising Certificates for both organisations.
